The city of Ganja has been declared the Sports Capital of the CIS for 2025. This decision was announced at the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS, held in Minsk. Ganja possesses the necessary infrastructure to meet the demands of large-scale sporting events. The city regularly hosts various sports and cultural events. Holding the III CIS Games in the regions will positively impact the development not only of the cities participating in the event but also of the entire region.
Ganja, the second-largest city in Azerbaijan, is distinguished by its rich historical and cultural heritage, as well as its developed infrastructure. Even today, Ganja remains one of the country’s most important cities due to its socio-economic development, modern architecture, and youth-oriented policies. Ganja is also known as a city of youth and students. The higher education institutions operating here, the extensive opportunities created for young people, and their active participation in social initiatives provide a foundation for the city’s further progress.
