Azerbaijan Gears Up to Host the III CIS Games in 2025

On July 10, 2024 The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan signed Decree No. 198 on the organization of the III Games of the CIS countries in Azerbaijan. Pursuant to this decree, an Organizing Committee has been established, tasked with addressing all matters regarding the conduct of the Games. The III CIS Games will be held from September 28th to October 8th of the current year across seven different cities in Azerbaijan: Ganja, Gabala, Yevlakh, Goygol, Mingachevir, Sheki, and Khankendi. It is significant that the first CIS Games took place in 2021 in Kazan, Russian Federation. In 2023, Belarus hosted the II CIS Games, following which the relay of the Games was passed on to Azerbaijan. The III CIS Games, an event of considerable significance for the global sporting community, will unfold in Azerbaijan. A nation with a distinguished track record in hosting major sporting events, Azerbaijan will uniquely conduct these Games not in its capital city, but across its diverse regions, marking a distinctive characteristic of this upcoming occasion.
